The Mistral’s “little brother”
Our Apus glides with speed and agility, just like the common swift (Apus).
As the Mistral’s “little brother”, this new glider from Swing bridges the gap to the Hybrid.
The Hybrid is a foot-launched speed glider with very short lines and low aspect ratio, which allows low - level carving
The flight characteristics of the Apus
In contrast to that, the flight characteristics of the Apus are much more similar to those of a conventional paraglider.
The Apus is somewhat smaller which means it can be flown very dynamically, but it still has very good performance and safety.

The Axis 5 - deluxe learner glider
The Axis 4 has now been available for four years and the time has come
for it to be replaced. In 2010, Swing brought out a number of new
reference models. It is intended that the new Axis 5 will build on this
very successful and appealing range.
The concept was able to be taken over in part from the concept for
the Arcus 6 Compact. This is reflected in the canopy construction,
canopy curvature, line concept and material.
Pilots will notice these improvements in these aspects:
- when inflating, the canopy rises even better than before
- higher trim speed
- increased canopy stability over the whole speed range
- better glide performance
- greater agility with the same damping around the roll and pitch axes
- use of flex sticks – greater stability in the leading edge
The Axis 5 will of course appear in the current Swing design and with new colour options. More Information

 What a cracker of a day in Porterville, a new site record of 135km (xc distance 143km), from Pampoenfontein in Porterville, with the Swing Astral 6 small. Leonardo Track Log
We have a few guys on tour, Cape Town was very strong SE, so we went to Porterville. As we have new clients we did a detailed briefing on two possible options; flying to Rhenosterhoek and flying over the back into the Citrusdal valley and beyond. Discussing best routes to take and good trigger points along the way, and altitude to be before flying further.
